Topic: Integrative ADHD Treatment

Description: Transforming ADHD Care: Beyond Traditional Treatments

Delve into the world of childhood ADHD through a comprehensive lens that blends nutritional psychiatry with traditional medication management. This in-depth discussion will begin with the scope and prevalence of ADHD and a review of diagnostic criteria and presentations. An exploration of what’s happening in the brain in terms of chemistry, the impact of untreated ADHD, and its common co-morbid conditions will also be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on integrative treatment options, including nutritional psychiatry strategies that address the gut-brain connection and neurotransmitter synthesis. Traditional medication management strategies will be explored The session will wrap up with practical tools for clinicians, educators, and families and referral considerations for integrated psychiatric care to ensure whole child care.

Presenter: 
Sara Langley, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, specializes in children and adolescents with brain-based medical conditions. She’s dual board-certified in Primary Care and Psychiatry, holding degrees from Columbia and UCSF. She is certified in Nutritional Psychiatry which she blends with traditional medication management. She is founder and co-owner of ChildKind Integrative Psychiatry in Beverly Hills and founded the Mommies In Mind Blog site.
